Fiji 5K Walk/Run
Beginning in 2013, the Rho Phi Chapter has hosted a 5K run/walk that benefits the Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society. In recent years, they have raised over $10,000 from the proceeds of the race along with donations.
Fiji Football Run
The men of the Rho Phi (Rose-Hulman Inst. of Technology) and Tau (Hanover College) chapters of Phi Gamma Delta, each year since 2010, conduct the FIJI Football Run to support the United Service Organizations. The football run makes its way 150 miles between the school campuses in Terre Haute, IN and Hanover, IN in a 24-hour period. For more information, or to donate to help us reach this year's goal, please contact:
Every year, the brothers of Phi Gamma Delta partner together with the Chi Omega sorority to host Happiness Bag, a dinner for adults with disabilities. After the dinner the everyone sings Christmas carols and afterwards, a brother dresses up as Santa makes an appearance and distributes the gifts that the chapter has gotten for the guests.
Traditionally held at 5:00am on a Saturday, Clothe-A-Child is held every year at the Terre Haute Super Walmart on U.S. 41. The Wal-Mart sponsors the Noon Optimist Club’s effort to raise more than $50,000 to clothe almost 1,000 needy children in the Terre Haute area. Once the money has been raised, the kids go through Wal-Mart to get the clothes they need and every year brothers go early in the morning to help the children go shopping and pick out the clothes they need.
Bikes For Tykes
After Clothe-A-Child, Rose-Hulman holds an event - organized by the Exchange Club of Terre Haute - in facilities called Bikes For Tykes. In a chaotic few hours, the men of Rho Phi and other groups on campus, assemble, inspect, and sort hundreds of bikes for the local children of Terre Haute.
Every year Rose-Hulman has several 'Campus Beatification' events where student groups go and clean campus or participate in a project to clean up and make campus look better.
